Jay Lamm's Dyno Day Party
December 5, 1998
The weather was bleak and cold (in California
terms) but that didn't dampen anyone's enthusiam. Miataphile's from all
over the Bay Area showed up for Jay Lamm's Miata Magazine Dyno Party.
There was plenty of great food and time to chat with Jay, Barbara Beach
and others. Jay's place is quite the pad. Not only an office, it also serves
as a living room, kitchen, bedroom and... his garage! That's right! Every
man's dream. He gets to park his cars in his livingroom. As he was
driving his Alfa back in from the dyno run, I yelled to him to make sure
he wiped his wheels off good before driving on the carpet.

Dyno result: A blazing 91 horses.

No, this isn't the 2000 Miata.
A '59 Buick LeSabre gives it a whirl...
129 horses and 230 lb/ft of torque.
Not bad for a 38 year old beast.

Thanks to Jay for a great Miata day. See, I got
all the way through one of these without mentioning the windstop.
Thanks to Jay for a great day. |
